Frances Issit has started a new art group running on Tuesday mornings at Rushbrook from 10am – 12noon and there are currently spaces available. If you know anyone who may benefit or be interested, ask them to get in touch. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org more details or ring 01803 865684. We are also seeking more volunteer helpers for this group.
Be there at 10.30am for tea, coffee and cakes and the film starts at 11am.
These screenings are open to all, but are particularly aimed at those who prefer not to go out at night. The tickets are just £5 each, available on the door.
The cinema has kindly offered free tickets to any volunteer from Totnes Caring/Memory Cafés (show your badge!) who is able to accompany an isolated, vulnerable, older person who would not otherwise be able to go to the cinema. The vulnerable person pays £5 and the volunteer is admitted free.
The Totnes Cinema is at 27a High Street, Totnes TQ9 5NP.
It is where the old Totnes Library used to be, down the passageway between the ‘All the Best‘ shop and ‘Amanda Marsden’ (previously Harberton Arts).
The last street collection in September 2017 raised over £400, so we would like to say a big 'thank-you' to all of our volunteers who took time out to collect - and another big 'thank-you' to everyone who donated.
Our quarterly street collections are busy days for Totnes Caring volunteers who take to the streets to raise money and awareness for the chairty and its important work. These days are fantastic ways to meet new people and engage with the community in Totnes, as well as providing an enjoyable experience.
On Collection Day you will find us at the following locations around Totnes: Leatside Surgery; Totnes Town Mill (by Morrisons); Mill Lane (by The Seven Stars); Peacocks; The Mansion; Fore Street (by Budgens); Totnes Community Hospital and the Market Area of Totnes.
Come and find us and feel free to ask questions of our volunteers and (maybe even) donate, so we can improve and continue all that we do. Alternatively, if you'd like to help out, and you are able to spare 45 minutes at any point on the day, please get involved in helping the charity to raise much-needed funds. Meet and talk to the people around Totnes and tell them all about us. Always an enjoyable activity - and we always appreciate any help you are able to offer! If you're interested, please check out our contact page and ask to talk to Jacquie, Amanda or Victoria regarding the Street Collection: they will be more than happy to answer any queries you may have - and maybe even book you a slot to help out!
