Did You Know?…that , as a Charity, we receive very little funding and we are totally reliant on YOUR donations and fundraising activities to continue.
There is a fee of £12 per hour for our Home Help Service as there is a need to employ and train our very valued Home Help Staff – for all other services we do not make a charge but we do ask for a donation to cover our costs.
These can be placed in the volunteers collecting box or sent to the office.
Other ways of supporting Totnes Caring are: -
- Supporting our monthly coffee mornings (on the 3rd Friday of the Month at the Methodist Church in Totnes)
- Joining the 50/50 Club – as well as quarterly prizes you could win the annual £1000 prize!
- Sending us a donation – if you gift aid it we can reclaim the tax
- Supporting one of our popular fundraising events
- Become a Friend of Totnes Caring by regular monthly, quarterly ar annual donations by standing order from your bank account. If you are a tax payer then again please gift aid it so we can reclaim the tax
- Give us your old printer cartridges and mobile phones- we can recycle these for cash.
- Remember us in your Will
- When you make your funeral plan ask for donations to be made to Totnes Caring in your Memory
People who fund us:
By donations – individuals and groups
This is by far our biggest funding route. We are very grateful for other Groups throughout the community who continue to support us through their fundraising activities. In addition we also receive tremendous financial support from individuals who send us donations – maybe for a particular service we have provided, or generally because they are happy to support us when they have some spare cash. Also, many individuals, or their family and friends, request that any donations at their funerals are sent to us if we have helped them throughout their life or they want to recognise and support the good work that we do. Some local shops and businesses hold one of our collection boxes which are regularly collected by our volunteers.
We thank all our donors with a card or letter (unless they request no acknowledgement) and in our Annual Review each year.
We would hate not to say thank you to each and every one of our contributors……..and our website is another way to ensure we can, so…

Legacies
Over the years we have received many legacies – people leaving us money in their wills.
This has proved to be a valuable support and has enabled the Charity to continue to grow and support the Community in many different ways.
