Older People service: Shopping delivery
Being able to shop for food is an important part of staying well and independent as we age. Our volunteers support older people to be in control of what they purchase with our shopping delivery.
Age UK say one in five (19%) of people aged 80-84 say they have difficulty shopping for groceries. This rises to 60% for those aged over 90.
For older people who are housebound and unable to do their own shopping we can offer support with Totnes Caring volunteers who will purchase the required groceries on their behalf & deliver them to their home. In addition to the price of the shop we just ask for a small donation to cover the volunteer’s costs.
