The People Behind Totnes Caring

Totnes Caring has a large pool of workers the majority of whom are volunteers. These volunteers willingly give their time to support those who use our wide variety of services which we are able to offer in the community. In addition based at the Council Offices at Follaton we have our staff who oversee and ensure the smooth running of the charity.

Originally set up in 1987 by some of the town’s doctors who saw the need for the provision of extra help and support for their patients. Totnes Caring has expanded greatly and now offers a range of services, including transport, shopping, befriending, form filling, lunch clubs, a home help service and much more.

Totnes Caring is a registered charity and is governed by a Board of Trustees who are responsible for making policy decisions, staffing and funding of the organisation. All trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no benefits from the charity, again their hard work and support is greatly appreciated.
